  1. Hi itsme,

How are you there? Well, is it my first vacation since 2 years, so 3 weeks vacation is really needed for me..:-D
Every company would had some dark periods in her history, EMC is not an exception,
especially if the company (like EMC) try to support multi-platform, -applications, -etc.
From my beta tests experience for the new major updates for the backup software (like NW 7.6 SP2, NMM 2.3 with Data Domain) it is becoming more interesting product. You can ask EMC for the RA release of the products.
Please see the following link: (http://nsrd.moab.be/2011/04/16/announcing-major-updates-to-emc-backup-software).
Now back to my last days of the short vacation…;-)

  2. moab, what a long vacation you have! i hope it’s been relaxing. now get to work and put 7.6.1.5 update up there. i hear SP2 is out too. should i bite? you know history recorded a very dark period when 7.4.5 was released. it was a very bad release. what’s with all the small releases sub 7.6.1? i guess it’s good that problems are being fixed quickly but does it indicate some sort of a disarray? how much of a scramble will it be for them if SP2 is broken? i’m just shy because i had a bad taste with 7.4.5 and i know it was a long time ago, but still.

it’s ok for a small site to tolerate problems but when backing up terabytes daily, it’s harder.

  3. Hi,
I’m happy it was a good help.
According to the schedule, SP2 should be release in April!

  4. you’re a saint. For some reason, I can’t find these release notes on powerlink. i’m anxiously await SP2
